Sicomin withdraws from the new bio-based epoxy resin SR GreenPoxy 28 for HP-RTM processing technology

As the automotive industry focuses on more sustainable manufacturing, leading eco-resin supplier Sicomin has announced a new bio-based epoxy resin specifically for HP-RTM processing technology to replace petroleum-based materials.
SR GreenPoxy 28 is the sixth product to be added to Sicomin’s famous GreenPoxy line, effective immediately, for the industrial quantities normally required by automotive OEMs.
“More and more manufacturers and suppliers are betting on bio-based alternatives from renewable raw materials. SR GreenPoxy 28, our newest product in the GreenPoxy range, is an exciting alternative to traditional resins for high volume The project provides superior performance and quality,” commented Philippe Marcovich, President of Sicomin.
Veritas Certified, SR GreenPoxy 28 is a fast-cycling, low-toxic, third-generation bio-based formulation specifically designed for HP-RTM molding processes for high-performance structural components and aesthetically pleasing carbon fiber components. The new formulation is optimized for fast cycle times and excellent mechanical properties.
SR GreenPoxy 28 is fully cured at 140 ̊C using a 2 minute cure cycle with an initial Tg of 147 ̊C and excellent mechanical properties under both dry and hot/wet test conditions.
